We don't have to be best friends or the same age group - I have clients in their 20s and in their late 70s - but when the phone rings and I see your name I want to smile and look forward to picking up. What does it cost?
It depends how much you have going on and how often you wish to meet each year.
 
I operate on a retainer basis that you optin to each year. There is also a separate initial fee for your first Statement of Advice. 
 
I charge flat fees (not a percentage of assets fee). I will also receive commissions for insurance policies (which will be fully disclosed).
Should my partner be involved?
Definitely. Even if you are the main breadwinner, most decisions you make will have an affect on your partner.
I don't need all of the things you mention, I just want help with x.
That's fine. We scope things in and out. 
What kickbacks are you getting from my investments?
Nothing. The industry no longer contains kickbacks/incentives for super/investments products.
 
I will receive commissions on insurance policies.
Do you advise on crypto?
No. I am not licensed to.
How do you know you can help me?
I won't know until we meet. But I will be able to tell you quite quickly. And if I can't help you, I'll say so and we won't work together. Simple.
My accountant says...
I will work with your accountant, mortgage broker, conveyancer, family lawyer and other professionals. It's in your (and my interests) that we are all on the same page.
 
I can make referrals to other professionals that I trust as needed.
What's your relationship with Moneysoft?
There is no relationship with Moneysoft beyond them letting me white label their software. They charge me per user and I pass that through to you. You would pay the same having a direct subscription yourself.
